The MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation System
The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) Navigation system incorporates digital navigation instructions and traffic information into live images allowing you to get to your destination stress free.
Cameras inside the car display a live video of the area in front of the vehicle. Within this live video, the MBUX system displays superimposed information such as house numbers, street names, and traffic light information.
The Hey Mercedes voice assistant allows drivers to interact with the vehicle on a whole new level. It launched in the 2019 A-class and currently found in 2020 and 2021 CLA, E-class, GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, and GLS models.
The system is activated with the command, ‘hey Mercedes,” and a question or statement after that. Drivers can ask for directions to a specific place and Hey Mercedes will pull up the Navigation system and begin giving directions.
Besides basic navigation questions, there are more advanced features as well, for example, saying, ‘Hey Mercedes, I’m cold,’ it turns up the temperature. Also if you ask, ‘do I need my umbrella today’ it will give you a forecast of the weather of your current location and your destination.
All of these features work together to make for a unique experience that can make your commute or road trip quicker, safer, and more enjoyable.
